Itinerary
Day 1: Djerba / Tripoli
Pickup from your hotel in Djerba or the Libyan border in the Tunisian/Libyan frontiers and transfer to your hotel in Tripoli.

Day 3: Leptis Magna
Excursion to the magnificent Roman Site of Leptis Magna (120km) with its theatre, forum, Baths, sports ground return to Tripoli overnight.
Villa Sileen
Nearby Leptis, is another treasure, but one much less visited. While Leptis is grand and overwhelming, the Villa Sileen is exquisite on a smaller and more personal scale. This was the private home of a wealthy family of Leptis Magna, perched – like a modern-day millionaire’s villa – spectacularly on a Mediterranean cliff. Inside the house, every single room is filled with gorgeous, detailed mosaics and frescoes. The artistry in its beauty and quantity must be experienced to be believed. (BLD)
Day 4: Tripoli / Sabratha / Djerba
Excursion to the Roman site of Sabratha (70 km), with its remarkable 2nd century colonnaded theatre and stunning mosaic collection. Return to your hotel in Djeba or airport for your flight home.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION
Visa Requirements
Visas are required by all nationalities but are now available on arrival, although the authorisation must be organised in advance. In order to obtain a visa on arrival at the border, passport information must be forwarded to Sherwes Travel with booking details.
Important Notes
Visa applications may take up to 2 weeks to process, as Sherwes Travel has to seek authorisation from the Ministry of Interior in Libya. We regret, therefore, that we cannot accept bookings less than 2 weeks before the tour departure date. Once authorisation is obtained, the Libyan authorities issue a visa on arrival. Any passport that has an endorsement or a visa for Israel, either valid or expired, will not be accepted. Nor will immigration accept the passport of anyone who has travelled to Jordan or Egypt via Israel, even without gaining a stamp from the Israel/Jordan or Israel/Egypt border, as this implies entry via Israel.
Seasonal Climate
Libya has a Mediterranean climate around the coastal strips of Tripoli and the Nafusa Mountains, which makes them pleasant in most seasons. Winter can have cold days on the coast and in the mountains with occasional snow in the Nafusa Mountains. Spring (Mar/Apr) is a good time to visit after the rains when trees and flowers are in blossom. Hot summers are tempered by sea breezes and sites are usually free of other visitors. Autumn is cooler. Winter can be very cold. Up-to-date information on the weather worldwide can be found at http://www.sherwstravel.com.
Health & Safety
Vaccinations are not necessary and Libya is generally one of the safest countries to visit in Africa.
Credit Card Acceptance
Rarely accepted and not recommended.
Travellers Cheques
Travellers Cheques are not accepted. This might change very soon though.
Camera/Video Fees
At all sites in Libya an additional charge is payable for the use of a camera/video. The following sites currently incur camera/video fees of LYD5/10 respectively (approximately EUR€3/€6 or US$4/$8) – Tripoli museum, Leptis amphitheatre/circus, Leptis site, Villa Sileen, Germa old town & house.
Personal Expenses
You will need some extra money to cover any optional expenses, souvenirs and items of a personal nature such as laundry. Foreign Exchange Local Currency: Dinar. Recommended Currency: All money should be taken in EURO or USD cash only, preferably taken in new e 50 & USD 100 notes and EURO in 50 & 100 since they are more readily accepted.
ATM Availability: Very limited availability. Not recommended.
Food
Libyan cuisine is a mixture of Arabic and Mediterranean, with a strong Italian influence. There are some very nice fish restaurants in Tripoli. International cuisine is available in the larger hotels and in some restaurants.
Alcohol-free Libya
Libya is now a dry country and it is unwise to try to bring any alcohol into the country. As foreigner abide by Libyan rules.
Electric Supply and Plugs
For comprehensive information regarding voltages and plug types in use in the countries visited, we recommend you check the website http://www.kropla.com.
Sherwes Travel Tour Cancellation Policy
You will be subject to cancellation fee for tour booked, paid for, and later cancelled as follows:
• 7-14 days prior to arrival date in Libya – no penalty. • Less than 7 days prior to arrival date in Libya – 25% • After arrival date to Libya (or without notice) - no refund • An administration fee of €65 will be applicable to all
Prior to departure, Sherwes Travel reserves the right to cancel a tour, and will provide a full refund of all payments. Sherwes Travel has never cancelled a tour, but would do so at its sole discretion should travelers' safety be of concern. Sherwes Travel is not responsible for expenses incurred by travelers in preparing for a canceled trip.
Once travelers are in-country, Sherwes Travel will provide comparable alternate tour arrangements, if the cancellation of a particular tour is deemed necessary. Should travelers elect not to accept these arrangements, this will constitute voluntary refusal of services, and no refunds will be given. Pro-rata refunds will be made if alternate arrangements are not comparable to the original tour services. Please note: Domestic flights may be replaced by ground transportation, if the domestic flight schedule renders flights impossible within the constraints of a tour and/or the tour dates; in this case, the missed flights are non-refundable as the ticket price will be used to make alternate land arrangements.
Cancellation by individual members of group tours is handled on a case-by-case basis, as it may require recalculation of the tour price, depending on the number of individuals cancelling (the reduced size of the group may affect the per-person price).
