Australian service personnel - from the army, navy and air force - were heavily involved in campaigns in Libya between 1940 and 1945. Tobruk is a household name in Australia.
We remember the 14,817 Australians who, far from home, served at Tobruk during the eight months of siege. We remember the more than 4,000 casualties, the 941 prisoners of war and most importantly, the 749 Australians who gave their lives.
Ruin Ridge remains a poignant episode in the history of Australia's part in the North African campaign, the final disaster which Australian troops suffered in the Mediterranean before they joined the costly but victorious battle fought on the same battlefield three months later.

Itinerary

DAy 1: Arrival Day

Our representative will and driver will welcome you and assist you upon your arrival to to Emsad. and later drive to Tobruk. Check in at your hotel and later a sightseeing of Tobruk. Dinner in a local restaurant.

Day 2: 2WW Cemeteries

Today you will visit the many WW2 sites, which include the Tobruk military museum, the harbour and its defences, the Fig Tree Hospital, Rommel’s Bunker and the remains of the bomber, lady Be Good. You then visit the grand German Memorial. Lunch and afterwards the sites at Knightsbridge Cemetery, Acroma, where over 300 Australians are buried, as part of 3,649 allied graves, on the actual battleground outposts, and bunkers where young men fought. After lunch, we go to the Tobruk Commonwealth War Cemetery, where 559 Australians are buried.
After the visit will drive back to our hotel for rest. Dinner and overnight in Tobruk.

Day 3: Drive Back to Emsad

After breakfast we transfer you back to the Libyan-Egyptian border (Emsad), after it had been an emotional visit to the young brave soldiers who struggled and sacrified their lifes forworld peac.

• 7-14 days prior to arrival date in
Libya – no penalty.
• Less than 7 days prior to arrival
date in Libya – 25%
• After arrival date to Libya (or without notice) - no refund
• An administration fee of €65 will be applicable to all

Prior to departure, Sherwes Travel reserves the right to cancel a tour, and will provide a full refund of all payments. Sherwes Travel has never cancelled a tour, but would do so at its sole discretion should travelers' safety be of concern. Sherwes Travel is not responsible for expenses incurred by travelers in preparing for a canceled trip.

Once travelers are in-country, Sherwes Travel will provide comparable alternate tour arrangements, if the cancellation of a particular tour is deemed necessary. Should travelers elect not to accept these arrangements, this will constitute voluntary refusal of services, and no refunds will be given. Pro-rata refunds will be made if alternate arrangements are not comparable to the original tour services.
Please note: Domestic flights may be replaced by ground transportation, if the domestic flight schedule renders flights impossible within the constraints of a tour and/or the tour dates; in this case, the missed flights are non-refundable as the ticket price will be used to make alternate land arrangements.

Cancellation by individual members of group tours is handled on a case-by-case basis, as it may require recalculation of the tour price; depending on the number of individuals cancelling (the reduced size of the group may affect the per-person price).
