Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival Day / Tripoli

Depart Europe on scheduled flight to Tripoli. Transfer to your 3 star hotel in the centre of Tripoli. In the afternoon enjoy a walking tour of the centre of Tripoli with our guide – get an impression of this fascinating city with its long and changing history.

Day 2: Tripoli Sightseeing / Sabratha

Morning guided tour of Sabratha – a Roman city with a stunning Colonnaded Theatre, Imperial Basilica and outstanding museum housing fine mosaic art.

Afternoon city tour of Tripoli including the Arch of Marcus Aurelius, Karamanli House, old British Consulate and the mosques and souks of the old town.

DAY 3: Full Day Tour to Leptis Magna

A full day’s tour of Leptis Magna, arguably the most impressive and best preserved Roman city in the world. Monuments of interest include the Severan Arch, the Theatre and the Colonnaded Street. Also visit Villa Sileen, the coastal home of a Leptis Magna dignitary with its beautiful wall paintings and mosaics.

Day 4: Tripli / Optional excursion to explore Berber culture

Full day free to relax. Optional excursion available (bookable prior to departure) to the Berber Heartlands of the Jabal Nafusa with a visit to the magnificent 12th century fortified granary of Qasr al-Haj (chosen as one of the World’s 80 Greatest Treasures in a recent BBC series) including lunch. Continue to Gharyan and visit a troglodyte house and the town’s roadside pottery shops.

Day 5: National Museum / Transfer to Airport

Morning guided visit to the National Museum with its delightful collection of Libyan antiquities. Transfer to Tripoli International Airport for return flight home.

Sherwes Travel Tour Cancellation Policy

• 7-14 days prior to arrival date in
Libya – no penalty.
• Less than 7 days prior to arrival
date in Libya – 25%
• After arrival date to Libya (or without notice) - no refund
• An administration fee of €65 will be applicable to all

Prior to departure, Sherwes Travel reserves the right to cancel a tour, and will provide a full refund of all payments. Sherwes Travel has never cancelled a tour, but would do so at its sole discretion should travelers' safety be of concern. Sherwes Travel is not responsible for expenses incurred by travelers in preparing for a canceled trip.

Once travelers are in-country, Sherwes Travel will provide comparable alternate tour arrangements, if the cancellation of a particular tour is deemed necessary. Should travelers elect not to accept these arrangements, this will constitute voluntary refusal of services, and no refunds will be given. Pro-rata refunds will be made if alternate arrangements are not comparable to the original tour services.
Please note: Domestic flights may be replaced by ground transportation, if the domestic flight schedule renders flights impossible within the constraints of a tour and/or the tour dates; in this case, the missed flights are non-refundable as the ticket price will be used to make alternate land arrangements.

Cancellation by individual members of group tours is handled on a case-by-case basis, as it may require recalculation of the tour price; depending on the number of individuals canceling (the reduced size of the group may affect the per-person price).
