Libya, Egypt Sign MOU on Employment

Electronic connection Employment - Libya and Egypt on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) in Tripoli on electronic connection between the Libyan Office for Employment and Vocational Training and the Egyptian Ministry of Labour and Migration.
The MOU, signed by the secretary of the Libyan office for Employment and Vocational Training, Brigadier-General Saleh Rajeb, and the Egyptian Minister of Labour and Migration, Mrs Aicha Abdelhadi, stipulates that the Egyptian side will set up electronic database that includes the names of Egyptians who express the wish to work in Libya in accordance with the needs of the local market.
The Libyan side will inform Egypt of the names of workers chosen by Libyan employers from the electronic database and make a copy available.
The agreement says that in case Libyan employers express the wish to hold interviews for candidates and choose them by themselves or through their delegates, they must present a request to the Egyptian Ministry of Labour and Migration and an authorization from the Libyan Office for Employment and Vocational Training by mentioning the requested number and the professions.
The memorandum also stipulated that the Libyan side will be in charge of introducing the names of workers chosen by Libyan employers from the electronic database of the Egyptian Ministery of Labour and Migration for those who are not yet registered on the database and a prior authorization at the request of appointment from the Libyan Employment Office.
The agreement says that the two sides must give the border posts between the two countries the list of those who will cross and both parties will meet alternately once a year or whenever need be in view of sharing ideas on changes likely to occur on the terms of the memorandum.
Meanwhile, the Libyan Office for Employment and Vocational Training and the Egyptian Ministry of Labour and Migration, have signed the minutes of their meeting in Tripoli during which the Libyan Fund for Retirement and Social Coverage and the Egyptian Ministry of Finance and Social Insurance agreed to sign a bilateral agreement relating to social insurance for workers, taking into consideration their interests during their activities in Libya.
